In a tradition that lasts for almost two decades, the small town of Puurs in the heart of Flanders sets the scene for one of the best blues festivals in Belgium: Duvelblues.
Over the years this charming festival managed to build a solid reputation amongst blues aficionados and internationally renowned artists alike.

Just a glimpse of the blues men who graced the stage of Duvelblues is enough testament to the status this festival holds: The Tommy Castro Band, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Charlie Musselwhite, Eric Bibb…. At the 2014 edition Johnny Winter played Duvelblues, a mere two months before he passed away.

Duvelblues is the brain child of Gust Meeus, who at the tender age of 13 discovered the blues. He never looked back. Nowadays he is as passionate as ever about discovering new talents and getting big names to play on Duvelblues. Over a period of 18 years his festival may have grown in reputation and attendance, but Gust always kept true to his belief that Duvelblues should be a warm, social event where people can enjoy a fresh pint of Belgian’s finest beer, Duvel, while listening to the finest blues music around.

Want to experience the magic of Duvelblues yourself? Treat yourself to a trip to Puurs. Camping is free, the beer is cold. Oh, and if you are younger than 26, you get in for free. See you there!
